Friday, March 25, 2016 @ 7:30 PM - 10:00 PM

$7 – $10
Sketches from the Underground

The 7-piece Gerry Rempel Jazz Syndicate is ready to rock the house March 25 with a wide array of stylistic influences.

The band will be releasing their second CD, “Sketches From the Underground” in the near future. The CD features all original compositions from Gerry including a fusion of swing, latin, afro Cuban, funk, rock and other influences, both aggressive and sublime. The group will also be playing songs from their first album “Parisian Nights” featuring a couple of tunes with French vocalist Susanna Meyer.
The Gerry Rempel Jazz Syndicate has played at festivals and concerts over the last few years. The group was featured in the Ballet Fantastique’s Parisian production “Pride and Prejudice” and a variation of the group “the Gerry Rempel Ensemble” in late February played Ballet Fantastique’s “Dragon and the Night Queen” production at the Hult Soreng Theater to three sold out shows.
“Fabulous music is the glue that binds wonderful ‘Dragon’ ballet. The production” used live music, which was exciting as well as lovely.” —Register Guard review
Gerry has composed a number of tunes for these productions including “the Priestess”, Moulin Bleu”, “the Sirena and the Dragon”, Les Etoiles Overture”, String Theory” and others.
There is a great lineup of musicians in the mix: Gus Russell (keys), Rick Carter (bass), Bruce Cole (drums), Brian West (percussion), John Polese (trumpet), Scott Mitchell (sax), Gerry Rempel (guitars).
